IOWA PARK, TX(RNN Texoma) -

The community of Iowa Park came together Saturday to help support a child and her family.

A benefit was held at The Prestyn in Iowa Park for Jaydi Beirne.

She is suffering from an unknown medical condition that causes pain in her legs and seizure-like conditions.

The benefit Saturday was to help her family with medical expenses.

Jaydi's grandfather, Electra Chief of Police Michael Dozier, said he was overwhelmed by the community's support.

"It just it's such tremendous support from the community and I know other communities are the same way but this is what some of the small time living is about," Dozier said. "People have just donated and come up here and we have tons of people showing up here today and it's just working out really great for us and this little girl right here."

There was food and a raffle at the benefit Saturday.

If you would like to help the family and couldn't make it to the benefit, cash donations can be made at any First Bank using the account: Jaydi Beirne #4128591.
