WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

Wichita Falls ISD school board members approved phase three of the security initiative plan Monday night.

Lamar Elementary is one of seven schools in the district that will see some changes next school year, all in hopes to keep students safe.

Southern Hills, Fain, Ben Milam, Scotland Park, Sheppard and Brook Village Early Childhood Center are part of phase three and will all see security upgrades as well.

The main goal of this phase of the project is to secure the main entrance areas by having parents or visitors provide their ID and being buzzed into the building by the receptionist.

Phase three is estimated to cost a little over $200,000 and is coming from the 2015 bond funds.
