WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

A Wichita Falls man is facing additional charges for theft of a firearm and theft from a motor vehicle.

According to an arrest warrant, Stacey Stouard, Jr. was arrested on Tuesday, May 15 for public intoxication, possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon following a check welfare call to police.

Later that day, the firearm found in Stouard's possession was reported stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the 4300 block of Berwick Drive on the city's southwest side.

WFPD cited in the arrest warrant that 25 other vehicle burglaries took place between May 7 and May 14 in the same area. Various items were stolen during those burglaries, including eight firearms.

Officers obtained security footage and based on the previous vehicle burglaries believed Stouard was involved in the recent string of crimes.

On May 16, Stouard was interviewed by the WFPD and was informed a search warrant was going to be conducted at his residence in the 2600 block of Southwest Parkway.

According to the arrest warrant, Stouard confessed multiple stolen firearms would be found inside his apartment. During the search warrant, multiple items, believed to be stolen, were found including a Remington 870 shotgun.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that firearm was stolen on May 13 from a vehicle in the 4200 block of Shenandoah Drive.

Stouard was charged with theft of firearm/theft from motor vehicle. As of Thursday afternoon, he remained behind bars on a $20,000 bond.
