Prices at the pump continue to rise

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) -

The statewide gas price average for a gallon of regular unleaded in Texas is now $2.76 a gallon, according to AAA Texas.

The price is six cents more than last week and 58 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year.

Of the major areas surveyed, drivers in Midland are paying the most on average at $3.06 while drivers here in Wichita Falls are paying the least on average at $2.65 a gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest price in Wichita Falls is at the Dollar Saver on Sheppard Access Road where the price is currently $2.55.

Some Wichita Falls residents say the prices may affect their travel plans.

"I have a bunch of friends that are going away too and they are really upset to because they are not going to be able to come home for their brothers birthday or a graduation because it's to expensive," said Caroline Presson.

The national average is currently at $2.96, which is six cents more than last week and 59 cents more than this time last year.
