GRAHAM, Tx (RNN Texoma) - In the hot summer months, people hit the water.
TRC Recreation, also known as Texas REC has been in Graham for 20 years making pool accessories and is one of the largest manufactures in the world.
"We sell to Disney, Sea World, Royal Caribbean. Brands that are known all over the country and all over the world," said Chris Holland, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for TRC Recreation.
There are two plants in North Texas. All of the products Holland said to start out the same.
"Everything comes in as big sheets of foam," said Holland. "We stamp out and cut the right shapes and then mold these into the right items."
The Graham plant focuses on making the reclining chairs and the iconic "big dippers."
Staff will make more than 120 floating recliners and 120 pool floats a day. Some of the items get shipped right away and others will be stored for the slow season.
"We may store some of this product but we produce year around since we sell all over the world," said Holland.
It is not all fun and play. Another product made by Texas Rec are super-soft life jackets.
Recently, the plant teamed up with the "Remembering Wyatt Dale" foundation, after Wyatt drowned at the Possum Kingdom Lake four years ago. He was not wearing a life jacket.
Holland said the company wants anyone who needs a jacket to have one so he or she can stay safe.
"With our life vests, we are out there putting out a product that can really save a life," said Holland. "We try to make sure that people realize the safety aspect of water as well."
Even though the company has become internationally known, Holland has no plans to move the plant to a big city.
"We try to stay true to our roots," said Holland. "We started in Wichita Falls and expanded to Graham about 20 years ago. We just really enjoy working with the people and working in those small cities."
The plant in Graham employs 30 people during the regular season and 35 during the busiest.
