Rain means no fireworks ban this year in Wichita Co.

WICHITA COUNTY, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Fireworks will be fair game for Fourth of July celebrations this year.

Wichita County officials said enough rain has fallen that a fireworks ban was not necessary.

Texas counties had to enact fireworks bans by Friday, June 15.

Fireworks cannot be used in the Wichita Falls city limits, but can be used in the unincorporated areas of Wichita County.

June 24 is the first day fireworks can be sold in Texas.
