WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - A Wichita Falls man is behind bars for Aggravated Assault Family Violence for allegedly stabbing his roommate, according to police.

Just after midnight on Friday, officers were called out to the area of Corwin Street and Madison Street in reference to a man and woman banging on doors.

The man and woman were found in the 1000 block of Corwin and the man had several cuts to his chest and arm.

The victim said when he arrived at his home in the 1100 block of Corwin he and his roommate, James Blanchard, 68, began arguing. The victim told officers the argument turned violent and Blanchard grabbed a knife and began slashing him.

During the altercation, Blanchard is accused of stabbing the victim in the arm and 'plunged' the knife into the victim's chest. The victim ran out the front door where he pulled the knife out of his chest and ran away from the home to get help, according to police.

Blanchard was arrested and booked into the Wichita Co. Jail where he remained on Friday. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
