WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - An early morning fire caused an evacuation at an assisted living center.
Around 4 a.m. Friday, the Wichita Falls Fire Department responded to an alarm for a structure fire at Midwestern Healthcare Center in the 600 block of Midwestern Parkway.
When they arrived, employees were evacuating residents of the center.
Fire crews entered and investigated the cause of the alarm. They found a fire in the ceiling area of a utility closet.
The fire was quickly extinguished and contained in the area where it started.
Crews said they were on scene for approximately an hour and a half. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a faulty exhaust fan in the ceiling of the closet.
