WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - The Wichita Falls Public Library celebrated a milestone Saturday.
The library held its centennial anniversary celebration at the Kemp Center for the Arts.
Event-goers enjoyed live jazz music, drinks, dessert and many historic documents detailing the history of the library.
There was also face-painting, balloon making, and a DJ.
Library employees said they recently made an interesting discovery.
"We did just last week find a huge treasure trove of historic materials in a locked cabinet," said Assistant Library Administrator Andrew Jelen. "There's orders for library furniture, the first budget, the first annual report to the state library, so there was a lot of interesting things even from 1918 that were in this."
Employees and organizers said they are proud of the library being there for the community all these years.
