WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - The 12th Annual Juneteenth Bash and Car-Show happened Saturday.
It was held at Spudder Park in Wichita Falls.
There were vendors, food trucks, a bounce house, and a car show at the event.
The organizers of the event said its all about celebrating and remembering your roots.
"It's just about celebrating freedom for African-Americans after the fact of Independence Day, so that's what Juneteenth is, June 19 but we are celebrating it today on Saturday because its the weekend so everybody can come out," said Crystal Washington Pope, Founder and President of CHARM. "We are bringing awareness to this holiday so that people know where they come from, what's going on with them, and just a sense of where they come from."
The organizers also said this event is about unity and that there is a diverse crowd that shows up to this event every year.
