Wichita Falls to get LED lights

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - It's going to be getting brighter at night on the Wichita Falls streets and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

That's because on Tuesday city council passed a resolution to spend $2.88 million to replace close to 5,700 city lights and make them LED.

The city began converting their lights eight years ago and currently, about 2,500 are LED.

City leaders said the lights should pay for themselves within ten years.
