WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Bike riders say when it comes to training for Hotter'N Hell Hundred, the closer it is to 100 degrees the better.
With the big event being only six weeks away it is go time.
For those looking to group train, The Bike Stop in Wichita Falls has one that meets twice a week.
Austin Monson, a mechanic at the shop, said when it gets hot like this some riders might want to back off, but they really need to go full out.
"Because then come race day if it's record-breaking heat like we've had in the past then it's going to benefit you that you did all of those rides leading up to it," said Monson.
The Bike Stop's group training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. It is for anyone looking to ride the 25, 50 or 100-mile routes at HHH.
Riders need to meet at the shop.
