WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Graham Police Department has released body camera footage of officers detaining an autistic man right outside of his home on June 26.

Now that the video is out on YouTube Tracie Moore is afraid that her 19-year-old son Michael Moore will come across it an relive the experience. She said he is still afraid to go in their backyard which is where he was arrested.

The incident took place after a neighbor called police to report that someone had been throwing rocks at their fence.

In the statement, released on July 2, police said the caller described the person as someone who was quote "not all there." The neighbor said that they wanted to speak to officers when they arrived to explain that they just wanted the officers to talk to him to get him to stop.

Authorities said that additional information was not passed on to the officers who responded to the scene.

In the body camera footage, officers are seen arriving at the scene in the alley behind Moore's house.

The neighbor said that they wanted to speak to officers when they arrived to explain that it wasn't the first time he'd thrown rocks and that they just wanted the officers to talk to him to get him to stop.

One officer found Moore in the alley way and asked him a few questions. Moore told the officer his age and where he lived. The officer suspected he was under the influence so he performed a field sobriety test which Moore failed

Officers tried to handcuff him. Both officers and Moore fell to the ground. Police then tased Moore twice.

They placed Moore in the back of a patrol car and then went to get his mom. She explained that he is autistic and officers released him.

The police department got some backlash on social media regarding how the officers handled the incident.

According to his mother he was injured and taken to the emergency room. She added that a blood vessel burst in his eye and he had multiple bruises.

The Moore family has gotten a lawyer. Although DPS is no longer investigating the incident, the family said they will not let what happened go.
