Iowa Park Police releases name of man found in Lake Iowa Park

WICHITA COUNTY, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Officials with the Iowa Park Police Department confirmed Wednesday the man found in the lake on Monday morning was Cory Don Blaine.

A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Evangel Temple in Wichita Falls.

According to the Iowa Park PD, the body of the 36-year-old was recovered around 8:40 a.m. on Monday.

The department was called around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and was told a man had been lost in the water after swimming near his boat.

Police said there was also and woman and two children with the man on the boat at the time of the incident but they were taken to shore.

The lake was closed to the public while boats with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and members of the Wichita Falls Police Department dive team searched for the man.

Late Monday morning it appeared the lake had been reopened to the public.

An earlier version of this story had the victim's age as 37-years-old. IPPD officials informed our staff on Tuesday of the error in information given to the media.
