WFPD: Woman assaults mail carrier with change, dog bowl

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - A Wichita Falls woman is behind bars accused of assaulting a public servant on Monday afternoon.

Tonya Jobe, 56, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a USPS mail carrier.

Around noon on Monday, officers were called to the 1700 block of 8th Street where they found a USPS mail carrier talking to another officer.

The victim told police that she was on Warford Street performing the duties of her job when Jobe, who was standing outside at an apartment complex, started yelling and cursing at her.

She told officers Jobe threw a handful of coins at her, before picking up a ceramic dog water bowl and throwing it at her, hitting her in the shin.

Officers did observe a bruise on her right shin. The victim got back in her USPS vehicle and drove around the corner to call the police.

Officers located Jobe at her apartment, arrested her, and charged her with Assault of a Public Servant.
