Suspect facing 2 charges after alleged Walmart theft

WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - One man is behind bars following a late-night arrest in Wichita Falls.

Just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night, officers were called to the Walmart on Lawrence Road for a reported theft.

Walmart employees told police they noticed a man walking through the store, placing various clothing, food, and electronic items in a bag. The items were valued at $108.32.

They were able to stop the man at the exit of the store and take the bag away from him. A short time later he came back and retrieved a bible from the bag and left, heading in the direction of Panda Express.

When police arrived, the suspect took off on foot. He ran behind Natural Grocers, jumped a fence into the transfer station, and ran into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities surrounded the area and a short time later, found 27-year-old Joshua Jerome Wilhoit hiding in the woods.

He was taken into custody and faces charges of theft and evading arrest.
