WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Long time business owners and blossoming entrepreneurs alike will get the chance to learn and hone the skills they need to keep their business thriving when Governor Greg Abbott's Small Business Forum Comes to Wichita Falls this month.

Penny Miller is one of many small business owners who plan to attend. As the owner of her consulting firm called My HR Department, she knows firsthand how valuable an event like the forum will be.

Miller said, "Human Resources area – the employment law area – is the single greatest source of lawsuits for small employers. When you're a small business owner you've got to do everything. You're in charge of finances, you're in charge of marketing your business, everything is you."

CEO and President of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce Henry Florsheim said, that as the local partners for the forum they're excited that the governor chose Wichita falls as one of the city's in Texas to host the event this year.

Florsheim stated, "Each year they hold a few of these events around the state, and it's been several years since one was here. They always provide loads of great information for anyone starting or running a small business."

The event will be at the MPEC on August 30. There will be discussions on marketing, social media engagement, government contracting, and finance. To learn more about what's on the agenda and how to register visit the event page here.
