32 young men were honored Monday night at the annual House of Eagles Banquet in Wichita Falls.

They were all awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor one can receive in the boys scouts.

Together they put in more than 2,500 volunteer hours to improve their communities.

"An Eagle Scout has to obtain several merit badges and have to dedicate several hours to days toward camping toward service projects toward meeting with their troop they have to hold many leadership positions within their troop so it builds character it builds leadership and it makes them better for the future." said Todd Yurcho, President of the 2018 House of Eagles.

The fact that a boy is an Eagle Scout has always carried with it a special significance, not only in Scouting but also as he enters higher education, business or industry, and community service.

Not every boy who joins a Boy Scout troop earns the Eagle Scout rank; only about 5 percent of all Boy Scouts do so.
