Brandi cashed a check on January 14, for $184.86, and then came back the following day and cashed another for $550, according to court documents.

Store officials said Brandi came back into the store within minutes of cashing the second check to try and cash a third worth $1,300. Employees became suspicious and contacted the issuing bank and learned the check was counterfeit using a non-valid account number.

The checks were made using the business name of a local property management company. Brandi left the scene before officers could get there but she left her driver’s license and the third forged check behind.

Brandi was recorded on the business' surveillance system. Then, on January 22, the Burkburnett Police Department was contacted by employees at United Supermarkets about a forgery incident.
