WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) -
The new Wichita Falls indoor soccer team is holding tryouts this weekend.
The arena soccer teams tryouts are fast approaching. So we caught up with some players that are getting ready for the big day, and the FC to see what they’re looking for.
“I’ve been doing a lot of sprints on the treadmill. I’ve been doing a 30-sec jog and 30-sec sprint. Then I’ll do a one-minute sprint and a one minute sprint and definitely thing I would do indoor soccer none minute a jog and playing a lot, obviously," said Ronald Reeves, FC hopeful.
“I’ve been running and sprinting to keep my experience up a little bit of leg and body workout in the house. I incorporate a lot of it in what I do here at the Food Bank lifting heavy objects,” said Vincent Reed, FC hopeful.
Michelle Cramer Event ad Operations Director of the FC soccer club says this is a Semi-pro team and players are paid so the expectations are high.
“This is competition. this is professional, you're going to be paid, our players will be paid and so if you going to be paid you better be good, so if you're coming out her show us your stuff," said Cramer.
Some players say the new team allows them an opportunity to continue to play the sport as adults.
“Well, soccer has always been a part of my life so making the team will give a couple more years to keep that dream alive.”
There are still spots available if you want to try out and it doesn’t cost anything. All you have to do is register before Saturday. Also, we will be following Vincent and Ronald as they do their best to shine for the coaches this weekend.
