WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Just like Tuesday morning, the cold front wandered into north Texas overnight bringing chilly temperatures and fog. Also, like yesterday, we expect south winds to deliver a relatively warm afternoon, our last of the week. Rain is a bigger part of the forecast today and tonight. Our atmosphere will destabilize this this afternoon and tonight, so any thunderstorm that develops could produce hail and high winds ahead of Thursday morning’s cold front.
We’ll quickly go from spring weather to winter once the front comes through Thursday morning. Temperatures will drop by about 30 degrees as it passes. This means Thursday’s high temperature will occur before sunrise. By midday wind chills will be in the 30s, even if the sun is shining. Friday morning will be very cold with parts of Texoma dropping to the teens. Friday’s highs will be in the low and mid 40s.
