WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The chance of rain and very strong winds lead our weather headlines going into the weekend. Today will be a cloudy and cool day with temperatures in the 40s this morning, 50s this afternoon. Today’s chance of rain comes with on occasional shower. We’re not talking about significant or heavy rain for today. Tonight we expect thunderstorms to sweep through the area after midnight. Severe storms are not expected.
So, you might wake up to a rumble of thunder early Saturday morning but Saturday’s weather headline is strong winds. By late morning, winds will become strong out of the west, pushing rain out of the forecast, and dust from west Texas into our afternoon skies. Wind gusts will be over 40 miles per hour. High temperatures will be in the 60s. Sunday will be sunny with light winds and highs near 60.
