WICHITA COUNTY, TX (TNN) - A Burkburnett man has been sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

Kamron Minniefield, 20, took a promise plea on Friday in the 78th District Court. Minniefield was also facing a bail jumping charge but it was dismissed as part of the promise plea.

According to arrest documents, in August 2017, an off-duty officer at the North Texas Community Healthcare Center was contacted after staff reported a 14-year-old girl disclosed sexual activity during an intake screening.

The victim was taken to Patsy’s House to speak with a trained forensic interviewer. During their discussion, the victim said she has been sexually abused several times since she was 12-years-old, by Minniefield.

According to detectives, Minniefield was accused of forcing the victim to engage in inappropriate sexual behavior on six occasions over a period of two months.

In November 2018, Minniefield was charged with evading arrest after trying to escape officers that were serving a warrant at his home for his arrest.
