WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The rain and wind played havoc on Wichita Falls streets Saturday morning and afternoon.
It started with heavy rains causing street flooding across the region. basins and low areas quickly filled as around two inches of rain fell in just a few hours.
News Channel 6 crews say street flooding was reported across Wichita Falls, but the areas around Kemp Boulevard, especially around Avenue M were some of the hardest hit.
The rain took a pause in the afternoon, with high winds taking over. At one point, Oncor reported more than 3,700 customers in Wichita County and surrounding areas without power.
Winds gusted as high as 59 Miles Per Hour, knocking down trees and power lines across the region.
Elsewhere, more than 22,000 Oncor customers in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex are without power as of 4:00 pm.
