WFPD identifies woman who died after assault
Sunday afternoon, police responded to a possible assault in the 200 block of N. Beverly.

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Police Department has identified the elderly woman that died this week after she was attacked at her home on Sunday.

Officials say the victim was Ruby Ditto, 91, of Wichita Falls. Ditto passed away early Tuesday morning at United Regional. Sunday afternoon, police were called out to the 200 block of North Beverly for a possible assault.

Witnesses said they saw Ditto talking with someone in her backyard and a few minutes later Ditto’s truck was seen leaving the home. Witnesses told police they assumed Ditto was in her vehicle.

But moments later, neighbors found her lying in the backyard with head injuries, according to police. The case is now being investigated as capital murder. Police told us they have identified a suspect but have not released anymore information.
