WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Friday night looks a little rainy but the rest of the weekend looks beautiful across Texoma. That’s good news because there are a lot of great events on the calendar. Here’s a look at a few of them in tonight’s six around town.
Downtown on Wheels
Friday night, Bike Wichita Falls is hosting an evening of family biking fun in downtown. The center of the event will be on the corner of 6th and Ohio. From there, grab an event passport to be led on an adventure across downtown. The passport will also feature specials offered by downtown shops. The fun begins at 6 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m., and if you don’t have a bike, there will be a few available to rent.
The Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre is celebrating the western heritage of Texoma in a tale of love and friendship based on the history and founding of Wichita Falls. It’s a one-of-a-kind ballet show that takes over Memorial Auditorium tonight; the show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets start at $15.
Historic Church Tour
There are churches in Wichita Falls that make up hundreds of years of history and this weekend the Wichita County Heritage Society is taking you inside five of them during their Historic Church Tour. Churches include Church of the Good Shepherd, First United Methodist, Floral Heights United Methodist, New Hope Presbyterian, and Saint Paul Lutheran. The churches will be open for tours from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. tomorrow and you can start your tour at any of the five churches. Tickets are $20 or $15 if you buy in advance.
Loco for Cinco
On this Cinco de Mayo weekend, gather in Downtown Wichita Falls for the Loco for Cinco festival. It’s a day to honor the Mexican Army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. There will be plenty of live music and delicious food. The fun starts tomorrow at 4 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. and it’s all happening on Travis Street. Best of all, admission to the event is free!
Falls Town Flyers Home Opener
Wichita Falls new professional indoor soccer team, the Falls Town Flyers, will shoot for the win tomorrow night. The Lubbock Renegades come to town as the Flyers look to improve after playing hard but taking the loss in their first road game. The game starts at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Kay Yeager Coliseum. Gates open at 5 p.m. and you can get your tickets online. They start at $6 courtesy of News Channel 6!
