WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) -Wichita County Heritage Society held its annual Historic Church Tour around Wichita Falls on Saturday.
The tour allows people to see some of the oldest churches in the area. St. Paul Lutheran Church talked with the tourist about existing for 125 years, with much of the original features still in tack including the stain glass windows and the old organ that is even played today. The Pastor says he’s glad to be able to welcome the community especially those that often just drive by.
“People that will come and visit us are people that might not know that its St. Paul Lutheran Church but when you say that we are on the corner of 11th and Holiday street their like that’s beautiful stone building downtown. This way they get to come inside get greeted by the congregation. They get a tour and they get to see the beauty that we get to see every weekend,” said Lead Pastor, Rick Cody.
Other churches included in this tour were Church of the Good Shepherd, First United Methodist Church, Floral Heights, United Methodist Church, and New Hope Presbyterian Church. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Wichita County Heritage Society to help with restoration projects.
