WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Police Department held a retirement and promotion ceremony on Monday morning.
The festivities were held at the Public Safety Training Center on Flood Street. 15 new police recruits were welcomed to the department.
Older officers, including a newly promoted sergeant offered their advice to the new rookies.
“For me, this is just the next step to move forward and continue with my service. [I want] to teach the people that are coming up underneath me, and to be a good leader for them to be able to serve the citizens as well,” Sgt. Michael Poirot said.
Lt. Kyle Collier was honored after a long career with the department. He is moving on to work at the chief investigator for the Wichita County District Attorney’s Office.
