WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - A round-table discussion was held in Henrietta today to discuss what residents would like to see in the community.
The discussion was led by co-founder of Save Your Town Debra Brown.
Her trip was made possible by a USDA grant through the Small Business Development Center at Midwestern State University.
She says small towns have a lot of potential.
“We get it, we know what it’s like to live in a small town and we wanna see them continue to prosper and grow,” Brown said. “All those crazy reports about rural is dying, we don’t believe that, it’s not true. I travel all over the US and rural is not dying.”
“I would like to see a bigger spirit of entrepreneurship here,” Small Business Consultant Walter Lambert adds. “People starting their own business and learning to grow their business and bring in customers and dollars from the outside area. Henrietta’s got it, but I’d like to make it better.”
The Small Business Development Center at MSU provides individual business assistance, training and contract assistance to small businesses throughout the Texoma area. It is a part of a national program with more than 1,000 offices across the country.
