WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Thanks to north winds and cloud cover, Saturday’s high temperature was only 62 degrees, 20 degrees below normal for this time of the year. Tonight will be chilly with morning lows dropping to the upper 40s across much of the Red River valley just before sunrise. Mother’s Day weather will be a noticeable improvement with a little more sunshine and warmer temperatures. Winds will be light and highs will be in the 70s.
This coming week’s weather will be unusual as well but in a different way. A ridge of high pressure will build keeping the forecast dry and temperatures warm. Highs might be in the mid and upper 80s between Wednesday and Friday. We’re going to monitor a weather pattern more favorable stormy weather by the weekend
