WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - Construction is underway at City View ISD after residents approved a $10 million bond in May.

Construction began at the City View Junior-Senior High School right after school ended for summer break.

The quiet sound of their library will soon be filled with music.

“What we are looking at is turning this main room into a band hall and we’re looking at {part of it} being a rehearsal room,” said Terah Shawver, the Band Director. “To see this happening after 20 years of being here, it’s an answered prayer.”

Their old band hall will turn into the library.

"We're knocking down several walls and we're going to make that really nice but we just needed the space for the band and this was a great fit," said Superintendent, Tony Bushong.

"It’s neat because I thought honestly ‘It’s time to retire’ but with this going on I don’t even want to think of that right now>

In July, all of the bathrooms at the Elementary school will be renovated and will take up to a year to complete.

The goal is to complete all of the bond projects before the 2020 school year. Click here, to find out what the bond covers.
