FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A homeless man who suffered burns when a vehicle crashed and burst into flames near a tent where he was staying has died, increasing the death toll from a North Texas wreck to six.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office says the man died Monday afternoon at Parkland Memorial Hospital. The medical examiner on Tuesday didn’t immediately identify the man who was staying in the tent near where a pickup truck hit a tree around 2 a.m. Monday in Fort Worth.
Authorities say all five people in the truck were killed in the fiery accident.
Investigators are trying to determine why the vehicle left Interstate 35 and crashed.
