Sheppard Air Force Base confirms first coronavirus case
SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (TNN) - Sheppard Air Force Base has confirmed its first case of coronavirus via a Facebook live post on Wednesday.
SAFB officials said the case is travel related and involves a member of the 80th Flying Training Wing.
The patient traveled to Las Vegas before travel restrictions were in place, returned to DFW airport and then traveled home to his family. He contacted chain of command before going anywhere else. The unit leadership recommended he stay home and the family followed all quarantine guidelines.
SAFB medical experts believe the risk of further spreading from this case is low.
