More parents are choosing homeschooling to educate their children
There has been a ten to 15 increase in home schooling since classes began in August
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - More parents are turning to homeschooling as district cancel classes during the COVID-19 pandemic
Local and national numbers of parents choosing to homeschool their kids have increased 10 to 15 times since school started in August.
The biggest misconception that homeschool students face is not getting into college, not having friends and missing out on social interactions.
However for parents doing homeschooling, that’s just not true. Parents believe their children are just as smart and thriving as those in the classrooms.
“She loves it she doesn’t have to be up on a zoom call at eight A.M. every morning she gets to sleep in and we spend the afternoon doing lessons that we need to catch up on.” said Aja Mills-Haven, a parent homeschooling her 6th grade daughter.
However there are laws and steps parents must take to begin the homeschooling process.
