WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Police Officers Association put together and dropped off Thanksgiving baskets to dozens of police officers.
Members of the non-profit spent the week purchasing the food going into these baskets. This afternoon, they made a minimum of 50. Each basket contains all the necessary items for a Thanksgiving feast, including a turkey, and was delivered to their house.
Officers say now is the best time of year to give back and think of others.
“This is one of the ways during the holidays that we can help people and make sure that these families have a nice Thanksgiving dinner together,” said Sgt. John Spragins, President of the WFPOA.
Some off-duty officers were there and helped out with distributing the food.
WFPOA also use their funds to help the needs of the community throughout the year.
