VITA program looking for volunteers ahead of tax season

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - As tax season approaches, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Wichita Falls is in need of volunteers to help provide free income tax assistance to people within the community.

Volunteers will attend training to be certified through the IRS in order to provide services. Anyone in high school or older is welcome to sign up.

Four different training sessions are available:

  • Jan. 12 to Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Jan. 12 to Jan. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Jan. 9, 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Self-taught Program (approval required)
