WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - One former Texoma coach has been honored as one of the 100 top coaches to walk the sidelines.
The late Leo Brittain coached high school football for 28 years with stops in Vernon, Graham, and Wichita Falls High School.
This season marks 100 years of UIL Texas high school football. To celebrate, the UIL and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football have teamed up to honor the top 100 coaches in the sports history.
He led the Vernon lions to a state title in 1990.
Britton also collected 11 district championships in his time as a head coach, and even earned some awards such as THSCA Hall of Honor and Texas Sportswriters Association Coach of the Year.
