WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - Wichita Falls police arrested a man on Wednesday for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
William Rosser was arrested after police were called by the victim who had reported her car stolen in the morning.
The victim said when she woke up around 8:30 a.m., she realized someone had broken into her home and stolen her car. She reported the stolen car to police and was later told where her car might be.
After driving by the residence, the victim said she saw her car parked in the alley behind the house. She said she witnessed a man get out of the driver’s seat. She tried to confront the suspect but he ran inside the house.
The victim called WF police around 5:50 p.m. and she identified the suspect as the man she saw in her car.
According to police, Rosser claimed he didn’t know anything about the car and he had never seen the car before.
Police found the stolen car keys in Rosser’s pocket during a search.
Rosser is being held at the Wichita County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
