ARCHER CITY, Texas (TNN) - Archer City officials said Thursday the pumps are now functional at Archer Lake and they are pumping water into the ground storage tank.
They are only able to pump at about 25% normal capacity which means it will take them some time to transmit water to the distribution system. City officials anticipate water in their distribution system will be available sometime on Thursday.
City officials say it is critical for strict water conservation be practiced until their storage facilities are replenished and are asking residents to only use water for consumption, bathing and to flush toilets.
Work is also continuing at Lake Kickapoo to bring the city’s equipment back online.
A boil order will also be issued which will require residents to boil water prior to consumption, including brushing teeth, drinking, cooking and ice making.

Power has been restored at Lake Kickapoo Wednesday after it was shut off for a second time, according to Archer City officials.
However, city officials say they were unable to bring their equipment back online. They’re hoping to share some better news on Thursday.
