Capital murder suspect arrested, identified following Thursday car chase

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - Wichita Falls police have identified the suspect in a Thursday high-speed chase as a man wanted on a capital murder warrant out of Tarrant County.

Gang Task Force Officers reportedly saw the suspect, Pedro Rodriguez, drive away from a house on 9th street around 5 p.m. They attempted to stop him and he allegedly fled from officers.

At the end of the police chase, the suspect crashed into a light pole at Lebanon and Seymour roads; officers were then able to arrest him following a. on-foot chase.

Rodriguez is being charged with the following:

  • Evading detention or arrest
  • Possession of marijuana under two ounces
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Capital murder warrant out of Tarrant County from 02/04/2021

His bond will be set once he is taken back to Tarrant County.

The Wichita Falls Police Department worked with the Euless Police Department to capture Rodriguez.

Wichita Falls police have reportedly arrested one person Thursday following a high-speed chase that ended at Lebanon and Seymour roads.

What started out as a car chase ended as a foot chase when the suspect crashed into a pole. They bailed out of their car but didn’t make it far before police caught them.

The suspect is reportedly wanted on a capital murder warrant. Police also found a handgun on scene.
