UPDATE: WF police search house, suspect not located in Broad Street standoff

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - UPDATE (11:20 p.m.):

Wichita Falls police report they were unable to locate the suspect in a standoff on Broad Street after their SWAT team cleared the house.

The SWAT team reportedly approached the house, called out to the suspect and did not get a response. They then gassed the house and searched it; the suspect was not located by police.

Wichita Falls police is assuring WF citizens that there is not an active threat to the public related to this incident.

Charges will possibly be filed on the suspect at a later time.

UPDATE (9:30 p.m.):

Wichita Falls Police Department SWAT team negotiators are reportedly making contact with a suspect who is in a house surrounded by officers.

Law enforcement initially responded to a shots fired call around 6:55 p.m. in the 2200 block of Broad Street.

WF police say there was a disturbance between a man and woman in a house, and they believe a dog attacked the man to protect the woman. The man then reportedly shot the dog and the woman fled the house. Officers believe the man also shot at the woman.

The woman is reportedly safe and the scene is still active at this time. No injuries have been reported.
