Youth Opportunities Center in Wichita Falls to host Big Hat Benefit Brunch
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Miss Milan, the Program Director for the Youth Opportunities Center in Wichita Falls, stopped by News Channel 6 Wednesday to talk about the upcoming Big Hat Benefit Brunch.
“We’re looking to revitalize the building, really get some necessary changes made to the building so that it can be useful for the generations to come,” said Milan.
The YOC was closed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The benefit will be held this Saturday in the downstairs atrium of the Big Blue building in downtown Wichita Falls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Attendees will be treated to raffles from several local businesses, vendors, and performances by local youth organizations that have benefited from programs and services at the YOC.
“We’re going to have a Big Hat competition and so it’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Milan.
The YOC said their goal to enrich the lives of those in the community by providing opportunities for advancement starts with providing quality facilities for educational and resource programs.
“We wanted to do something that we don’t see very often in Wichita Falls, and you know a lot of people like to get dressed up, have a good time, get to know each other, and get to know more about the YOC,” said Milan.
YOC officials are hoping to raise $5,000 and all donations and proceeds will directly benefit the center.
