Emery Wayne Trombley, 21, of Colorado Springs was reportedly driving down US Highway 287 with a missing girl from Owensboro, Kentucky when he was pulled over for a traffic violation by a trooper from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The trooper confirmed that there were two active warrants for Trombley out of Kentucky for kidnapping and harboring a runaway child, and was able to identify and confirm that the 14-year-old female passenger was a missing juvenile from that state.

According to the Owensboro Times, the teen disappeared on Christmas.

Owensboro Times reported the missing teen is safe and will be reunited with her family.

Trombley was booked into the Childress County jail. After a medical exam, the girl was released to Amarillo Child Protective Services until her parent was able to travel to pick her up.
