NWS issues red flag warning for North Texas
Fire danger is at a higher risk.
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - On Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for North Texas as potential fire threats grow.
A red flag warning is issued when specific humidity, temperature, soil moisture, etc., line up to create a greater risk for fires.
At this time, the Texas A&M Forest Service warns those in Texoma that the slightest spark could cause severe damage. They ask the public to be aware of things like lit cigarette butts or dragging chains from trailers.
