WF family helps their community through blessing box
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - A Wichita Falls mom and son had the idea of creating a blessing box for their community.
Rachel Farleigh and her son Jerome Reynolds, who is only 12 years old, said the idea of a blessing box is to “take what you need and leave what you can” from a cabinet they filled with food and clothing. It’s placed in their front yard.
Reynolds said he understands that not everyone is able to leave donations and welcomes anyone who needs it.
“I said that so they can take what they need and they can share with other people if they want to, but they don’t have to,” Reynolds said.
Farleigh mentioned that they plan on expanding the blessing box by making it five feet tall and widening it from one tree to the other. Since people keep making donations, they need more space.
“So many people have came and donated. I did a couple errands today and came back and there was new stuff that wasn’t there maybe 30 minutes ago,” Farleigh said.
They don’t plan on taking this blessing box down anytime soon, so if you would like to stop by and donate or take something you need, the address is 2813 Sherman Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76309. If you would also like to follow Jerome Reynolds with updates on the blessing box, click here.
