WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - More information about the Wichita Falls ISD’s budget came to light in Tuesday’s school board meeting.
The district is looking at another major drop in funds. The Texas Education Agency is in its annual process of taking back money from the school district, which has been “overpaid” by the TEA for the last three years due to overestimating student enrollment.
WFISD’s new financial consultant said if nothing changes, they’ll be preparing for a deficit of up to $9 million for the next two years.
The exact numbers won’t be known until this summer’s audit, and News Channel 6 will make sure to keep you updated in the meantime.
