ORIGINAL STORY: Wednesday, May 18 at 1:03 p.m.

The payment system of the City of Wichita Falls Utilities Collection Department remains offline due an incomplete systems upgrade.

While the system is down, no cutoffs or late fees for non-payment will be enforced. Water payments can only be made at the Kiosk at City Hall until the upgrade is complete, and the City will alert residents as soon as the system is back online.

The software upgrade was meant to take place from May 16-17, with the end goal of enhancing security when making online payments. The upgrade was expected to take the City’s HR information system temporarily offline, including the Employment Opportunities website and Employee Self-Service functions for City employees. Additionally, utilities customer service representatives would be unable to answer account questions, though emergency cut-offs would still be available by calling (940) 761-4333.

For more information, call Utility Collections at (940) 761-7414.
