WFPD investigating deadly wreck on US 287

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - According to WFPD, it is confirmed that Lockwood was not wearing a helmet when he crashed. Public information officer Sgt. Charlie Eipper reported today, Sept. 12, that the victim was found in the pond without a helmet on, and the Dive Team that searched for any other items belonging to Lockwood did not find a helmet in the water.
Additionally, police were able to shed light on a missing person report filed in Clay County for Lockwood. According to WFPD, Lockwood was last seen by his friends and family leaving a party in Jolly on Sept. 8 at approximately 11 p.m. When he didn’t come home by the following day, his family began looking for him and filed a missing person report.
Lockwood’s body was found Sunday morning, Sept. 10, by a family friend who was reportedly retracing his steps to find him. Police report she noticed something in the decorative pond near the 5700 block of Central Fwy and called the police, believing she had found Lockwood.
Lockwood’s body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. At this time, police are unsure if his crash was due to impairment caused by drugs or alcohol.

The Wichita Falls Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash on US 287. According to public information officer Sgt. Charlie Eipper, 54-year-old Brian Dennis Lockwood of Wichita Falls, was found dead after a motorcycle crash on the 2700 block of East Central Freeway.
The WFPD Crash Investigations Unit, Dive Team members, and I.D. Technicians responded to the scene. The investigation suggests the motorcycle was traveling westbound on the freeway when it left the roadway onto the center median. The victim lost control of the bike, slid down the median, and possibly flipped before landing in the pond. The victim was thrown from the motorcycle.
