The Sight for All event sponsored by the Wichita Falls Founder Lions Club provides free eye and health screenings for anyone 2 years or older. It is on Saturday, October 14th from 10:00-2:00pm at the All Hands Cultural Community Center in Wichita Falls. WF Area Food Bank is hosting Empty Bowls from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 11th. Local artists, restaurants, and community volunteers work together to fill empty bowls in the community. Guests are invited to enjoy live music while dining on soups, breads, and desserts. Tickets include 3 free wine samples, and with ticket stubs a handcrafted bowl will be received. All proceeds go to Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.

Lightning struck near Lake Kickapoo causing a fire to erupt. The fire was located on the corner of 210 and Farmer Road. The fire was being barricaded.

Around 2 in the morning a garage caught fire on Taylor Street and Avenue I. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but it started in the front of the garage and smoke came out of the roof. Wichita Falls Fire Department arrived on scene to handle the fire. Fire Marshall, Eddie Mawson said one man lived in the back of the garage in an apartment. No one was harmed in this structure fire.
