On March 18, 2020, Wichita County announced its first positive COVID-19 test; a travel-related case coming in from DFW. A year later and the county is sitting at 14,735 total cases and have lost 325 people to the virus.
The Texas Education Agency has yet to decide if virtual learning will be an option for students next school year, but the Wichita Falls ISD is looking to change the way its students learn online, possibly through a virtual academy.
